Les Deux Alpes

Les Deux Alpes as the name suggests is made up of two Alpes, two areas of pasture that years ago were put together to form a ski resort.  There is over 200km of terrain to explore, with 225km of piste, a vertical descent of 2000m with the highest skiable peak at 3568m.  Les Deux Alpes also has a glacier which means it remains snow sure throughout the season.
Les Deux Alpes has 75% of its area south facing, which means skiing in fantastic blue sky conditions for 300 days a year. Your goggle tan will have never been so good!
As a resort Les Deux Alpes is easy and convenient to get around.  It takes just 20 minutes to walk from one side of town to the other, so you are never far from a ski lift, bar or your apartment. If you'd rather not walk, there are plenty of free buses to hop on to take you all around resort.

Skiing and Snowboarding in Les Deux Alpes

Les Deux Alpes is one of the best resorts for a good mix of runs for all abilities, and the glacier allows for consistently good snow quality.  For beginners there is a great ski school and a range of slopes to learn on.  The intermediates should head up onto the glacier to experience the better quality of snow. For the more advanced skier, there is plenty to keep you occupied, including the snow parks and plenty of off piste.  It is well worth hiring a guide to make the most of the pow pow, particularly in La Grave, the ultimate in off piste skiing.
Freestyle skiers and gnarly borders should definitely hit the parks in Les Deux Alpes.  They have a reputation for being kept brilliantly and constantly changed to keep them fresh and challenging.  The main park that includes many different areas is located between 2600m and 2900m in La Toura area on the mountain.  L'Envers is the most developed area in the snow park. It has areas for beginners to experts .  The park also has a great atmosphere with a BBQ, music, open  DJ turntable and even a few deck chairs to sit in, relax and watch the pros!

Apres in Les Deux Alpes

Les Deux Alpes has a lively reputation with its cosmopolitan feel and range of bars, restaurants and shops.  The best place for Apres is a bar called Pano, it has a happy hour and live DJ's to keep you dancing in your ski boots. The bars to look out for are Smithy's, The Polar Bear and the Rhummerie. But for the necessary cheesy euro pop it has to be Avalanche the best place to continue the night into the small hours.
For those looking for something to do other than skiing, there is a cinema, outdoor swimming pool, sports centre, skidoo rides, bowling, parapenting or you can even visit the ice caves and the sculptures.
